A significant Linux kernel vulnerability has been publicly disclosed, identified as CVE-2026-43284 and also known as DirtyFrag.

This vulnerability affects a wide range of Linux kernel versions released over the past decade. It can allow a local unprivileged user or process to escalate their privileges to that of a system administrator (root). In practical terms, if an attacker is able to run code on a vulnerable server, for example through a compromised web application, shell account, or other service, they may be able to gain full control of the affected system.
